Sanguinaria

Sanguinaria is a genus of just one species. S. canadensis, bloodroot, below, is a herbaceous plant, it has pale grey-blue leaves and snow-white flowers with golden anthers.

If you plan on transplanting, it should be performed in August. Sanguinaria should be planted in the partial shade with a sandy loam soil which should not dry out during the summer.
