Pedilanthus

Pedithanthus is a genus of succulent shrubs which produce deciduous leaves and colourful flowers.

P.carinatus produces large, red leaves and grows to around 3 feet,

Cultivate them in pots and place them in the greenhouse. Use a potting compost with a 1/4 parts of added coarse sand or broken brick.

In the winter, keep the temperature above 13oC and provide only enough water the stop the leaves from shrivelling.

To propagate Pedilanthus, take stem cuttinsg and roots with a mixture of coarse sand and peat.
