Cassia is a genus composed of shrubs, sub-shrubs and trees. Most require the protection of greenhouse if grown in the UK; conditions in the greenhouse can vary between cool and warm treatment and depends on the species. The Cassia produce pinnate leaves and yellow flowers that appear in clusters.
C.acutifolia, syn. Senna alexandrina, is a shrub with lemon yellow flowers which grows between 5 to 6 feet. C.australis grows six feet and has large golden-yellow flowers.
When grown in a greenhouse you should maintain a temperature of 7-10oC and water moderately.
