Catasetum is a genus of epiphytic orchids including over 100 species originating from Central and South America and the West Indies.

When cultivating, you can grow them in pans and baskets, using a compost of three parts osmunda fibre and one part sphadnum moss. When they are growing, maintain a temperature of between 16 and 21oC and water frequently.

When Catasetum is not growing, they should be given no water and require adequate staking. Plant them either in October or in March.
