Brunfelsia is a genus of evergreen shrubs that produce fragrant flowers. They are native to South America and the West Indies.

B.americana grows 4 to 6 feet with white flowers which become yellow. B.latifolio is shorter at between 2 and 3 feet. Below, Brunfelsia pauciflora.

They should be potted after they flower. Use a compost of 4 parts fibrous peat, 1 part loam or sharp sand and should be well drained.

They should be watered moderately between October to March, then during the summer syringe freely. During the winter the temperature should be kept above 10oC and below 21oC in the summer.
